Today is Day 2 of the 32nd Breeder's Cup Championship! We had great wins yesterday by Hit It A Bomb in the Juvenile Turf, Liam's Map in the Dirt Mile, Catch A Glimpse in the Juvenile Turf Fillies, and Stopchargingmaria in the Distaff. Here are my handicap picks for todays races. The card includes Juvenile Fillies, Turf Sprint, Filly & Mare Sprint, Filly & Mare Turf, Twinspires Sprint, Turf Mile, Juvenile, Turf, and the highly anticipated Breeder's Cup Classic.
14 Hands Winery Juvenile Fillies
$2 million / 1 mile and a sixteenth
2 year old fillies / Post Time: 12:05 pm
My Picks:
Win: Songbird #10
My reasoning is Songbird is undefeated in 3 starts, two being grade one races. She has only run in California but has done so impressivle. Her most recent start, the G1 Chandelier Stakes, was a mile and a sixteenth and won easily. I think she was run a good race if she can get over being in the outside post.
Place: Rachel's Valentina #9
My reason is Rachel's Valentina is also undefeated but in only two starts, one being a grade one stakes. She won the G1 Spinaway at Saratoga going 7 furlongs and beating #2 Tap To It. She has been looking good, just a bit worried about the distance and post, but could see her as the winner.
Show: Dothraki Queen #8
My reasoning is this filly has only been beaten once. She won the G2 Pocahontas at Churchill Downs going a mile and a sixteenth. She was second in the G2 Alcibades at Keeneland on a sloppy track to Gomo. I like this filly and hope she can have a good run.
